Educative review — Grokking Data Science
Are you a beginner lost in the sea of tons of beginner-friendly data science courses available on the internet?
Well, I was the same just a few months ago. Switching from one course to another, there are just a few that made sense to me. I recently heard about educative and thought of giving it a try. So far, I have taken three courses on the platform and Grokking Data Science is literally the best one out of them! Why? Let’s discuss it in detail below.
What to expect from educative?
Educative is home to a HUGE number of text-based courses. Before registering myself in any of its courses, I felt text-based courses can never fill the void of interactive video lectures but I was wrong. Courses on educative allow learners to practice each of the concepts explained in the lectures in a built-in coding environment and everything is explained in detail similar to video lectures. So if you are sick of skipping slow, boring introductions or watching a video again and again to understand a concept, Educative is for you!
What to expect from Grokking Data Science?
Grokking data science is the best of all the courses I have tried on Educative. It takes you from Python Fundamentals for Data Science to the implementation of a Kaggle Machine Learning project. Everything is explained in detail with simple terms and additional learning material. What’s the best thing about it, you ask? The motivational talk at the end of the course! As beginners, all of us feel discouraged often and the tips and tricks to fight imposter syndrome and get a high-paying job in the course are everything you need.
During my journey to learn the essential skills of a data scientist, I always struggled to find a statistics course that covers everything in a shorter time period but couldn’t find one but Grokking Data Science has got it too. From the anatomy of box plots to probability and types of distributions it covers it all in the simplest of terms. And, I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I say this is the only course that helped me clear all the basic statistical concepts in a go!

If you want to learn data science from scratch, this course is for you. It covers all the things you need to know to start building your own projects and even more. Though it is always best to learn from different sources, Grokking Data Science is good to start from, build your concepts, and move further.
